Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Specialist located in Missouri. This position involves providing specialized emergency care in a fast-paced environment, supporting patient stabilization and treatment. The role requires working nights, with responsibilities centered around delivering high-quality emergency services within a busy hospital setting.
Job Details
- Position Description: Rapid Response ER coverage requiring local availability, with outreach for rate confirmation within 48 hours. Must hold current certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), to be included in submission packets. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPI) certification needed by 09/30. No request for time off or special scheduling permitted. Start date within 5-7 days from offer, with a planned assignment duration of approximately six weeks.
- Unit Information: Emergency Department with 40+ beds and a staff of over 120 members, including clinical nurse coordinators, team leads, registered nurses, advanced paramedics, emergency department technicians, mental health service coordinators, and secretaries. Patient ratios are approximately 4:1, with high-volume sections including rooms and hall beds. Equipment available includes cardiac monitors, EKGs, ultrasound, Belmont Rapid Infuser, IO drills, Lifepak, among others. Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used is Meditech.
- Required Qualifications: One year of relevant experience, current certifications in BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI, and compliance with educational and location requirements.
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Candidates should demonstrate adaptability, be team players, and ideally have previous high-pressure medical experience, such as RN, medic, or technician roles. Critical procedures include IV starts, phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring/interpretation. Outgoing personalities and a positive attitude under pressure are preferred.
