Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN to provide care to a high-acuity patient population in a fast-paced emergency department.
Patient population includes:
- General emergency cases
- Stroke patients
- Pediatric patients
- Geriatric patients
- Psychiatric patients
The department sees approximately 220–250 patients daily.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with a variety of emergency conditions.
- Perform patient assessments, IV insertion, and ongoing monitoring.
- Manage patient care based on acuity and clinical needs.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and support safe patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Active California RN license
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
- Pediatric experience
- Strong IV insertion skills
- Patient care management experience
- Ability to provide hands-on clinical care and treat patients onsite
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- PALS
- LA Fire Card
Preferred Certifications
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a rhythm test with a minimum score of 80%.
- A maximum of three attempts are permitted.
- Orientation may occur across different shifts based on preceptor availability, regardless of the assigned shift.
