Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse – Travel Contract
Facility: Dell Seton Medical Center at UT
Location: 1500 Red River St, Austin, TX 78701
Facility Type: Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital
Shift: 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
EMR: Cerner
Unit: Emergency Department (ED/ER)
Unit Information
- ED Beds: 53
- Annual Patient Volume: Approximately 55,000–60,000 visits
- Staffing: Charge nurses, nurses, unit clerks, transporters, and patient care technicians
- Environment: High-acuity Level I trauma center with a physician and nursing residency program
- Scrubs: Navy blue tops and bottoms
- Inpatient holding and boarding may be required.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care according to hospital policies and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Assess patients and document changes in their condition.
- Communicate patient status to the healthcare team.
- Carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Coordinate care with other disciplines.
- Assist with discharge planning and patient transitions.
Required License & Certifications
- Active Texas RN license required before starting.
- BLS Provider – American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of hire/transfer.
- Advanced Life Support (ACLS/ALS) within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- Applicable AHA instructor credentials may be accepted in place of the corresponding certifications.
