Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN to provide direct nursing care in a high-volume Level I Trauma ED in downtown Austin.
Unit Details
- 53-bed Emergency Department
- Annual ED volume: approximately 55,000–60,000 visits
- Level I Trauma & Teaching Facility
- Physician and nursing residency programs
- 2 Charge Nurses
- Staffing includes RNs, clerks, transporters, and PCTs
- Inpatient holding/boarding may be required
- Cerner EHR
- Navy scrubs
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care according to hospital policies and procedures
- Implement and monitor patient care plans
- Assess, document, and communicate patient conditions
- Coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare disciplines
- Carry out physician and nursing orders
- Assist with patient discharge planning
- Use critical thinking and sound clinical judgment in a fast-paced environment
- Follow Standard Precautions and required PPE
Required
- Current Texas RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- Ability to work effectively in a stressful, high-acuity environment
