Job Requirements

• Active New York RN license or proof of application submitted with packet
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience or specialty nursing experience required
• Prior travel nurse experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC required
• TNCC must be active or proof of class completion must be provided before start
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity, high-volume emergency department
• Ability to manage patient ratios that may exceed 1:4 depending on census and acuity
• Reliable transportation is recommended due to limited public transit access

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality care to adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients in a fast-moving Emergency Department
• Start IVs, obtain EKGs, and assist with diagnostics as needed
• Administer medications, manage drips, and support treatment plans
• Care for boarded, psychiatric, COVID, and medically complex patients when assigned
• Collaborate with providers, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff to support patient flow
• Document accurately in Epic and follow department protocols
• Maintain professionalism and comply with unit expectations, including strict device-use policies
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs, census fluctuations, and rotating assignments
