Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department
This position is located in Big Sky, Montana!
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse works collaboratively with other health care team members to plan and implement patient education. The RN is responsible for assessing patient needs and initiating appropriate interventions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- American Heart Association ACLS certification
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification
- American Heart Association PALS or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course certification
- Competence in and willingness to practice modified primary nursing
- 1 year of emergency nursing or critical care experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Essential Job Functions:
- Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or the situation (Assessment)
- Analyze the assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis)
- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation
- Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes (Plan of Care)
- Implement the identified plan of care
- Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment
- Systematically enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
- Attain knowledge and competency that reflect current nursing practice
- Evaluate one’s nursing practice in relation to professional standards and guidelines
- Collaborate with patients, families, and others in the conduct of nursing practice
- Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice
- Integrate research findings into practice
- Provide leadership in the professional practice setting and the nursing profession
- Comply with hospital policies regarding care for patients with hyperacute and acute stroke
- Participate in four hours annually of stroke education
- Complete 6 hours of verifiable trauma-related education annually (State Trauma Program requirement)

Schedule Requirements:
This role requires regular and sustained attendance. The position may require working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. Holiday coverage is required.
