Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires working nights and may involve flexible scheduling based on staffing needs, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (or pending).
  • 2 years of nursing experience required, with at least 1 year in a Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center, including pediatric experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certifications required. TNCC can be pending but must be obtained prior to starting.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Additional Information

  • Schedule: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
  • Availability for every other holiday and weekend shifts is required.
  • Time off requests may be limited, especially around holidays such as Labor Day.
