48-HOUR NIGHT-SHIFT EMERGENCY ROOM (ER) RN CONTRACT – MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL

First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) in Odessa, Texas (Permian Basin region). Operating within the high-volume Emergency Department at Medical Center Hospital (MCH)—a premier 400+ bed Level II Trauma Center featuring a 42-bed emergency unit with an average daily census of 165 visits—this high-earning position features an approved 48-hour overnight schedule (4x12-Hours, 18:45 PM - 07:15 AM / 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; straight 48s or 36/48 alternating approved). PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

  • Weekly Gross: $2,718.00
  • Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,470.00
  • Hourly W2 Rate: $24.00/hr (40 regular hours)
  • Overtime Rate: $36.00/hr (8 weekly OT hours included)

SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 4x12-Hours (18:45 PM - 07:15 AM / 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM). Straight 48 hours or alternating 36/48 schedule.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 48 total hours weekly (40 regular hours + 8 overtime hours).
  • Weekend & Holiday Coverage: 12 total weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) required per contract. Holiday commitment: Must work either Thanksgiving & New Year's Day OR Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.
  • Facility & Setting: Medical Center Hospital / Unit: 6850 - ER (42 beds, 36 rooms, Level II Trauma Center).
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Standard 1:4 ratio.
  • Clinical Scope & High-Acuity Procedures: Combined adult and pediatric emergency care, penetrating trauma, gunshot wounds (GSW), traumatic amputations, Arctic Sun hypothermia protocol, procedural sedation, chest tubes, intubation assistance, continuous vasoactive infusions, and rapid stroke/cardiac resuscitations.
  • EMR System: Cerner preferred.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated acute care ER RN experience with mandatory Level II Trauma Center background. Prior travel experience required.
  • Licensure: Active Texas RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly in hand at submittal.
  • Certifications Required at Submittal (Must have all six active):
    • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
    • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
    • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
    • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).
    • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
  • Compliance Deadlines: Hard compliance document deadline is Tuesday at 4:30 PM CST prior to start date (no exceptions).
