Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a healthcare organization. This role involves delivering comprehensive patient care through all phases of the nursing process within a hospital setting. The ER Nurse will coordinate patient assessments, implement care plans, monitor responses, and document care activities, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and safety protocols.
Job Details
- Position Description: Provides patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Administers medications, monitors patient responses, and guides ancillary personnel. Maintains accurate, current patient records and communicates pertinent data to the healthcare team.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; at least 2 years recent Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) experience; at least 1 year ER travel experience; current RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification; successful completion of pharmacology and basic arrhythmia exams; fluent in reading, writing, and communicating in English; demonstrated skills in intravenous (IV) administration, IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring.
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Preferred Qualifications: De-escalation Certification Course completed; certifications in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Additional Information: The ER Nurse will participate in staff meetings, mandatory training, and patient care quality evaluation activities. The role requires current knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the patient population served. The nurse must maintain documentation of ongoing professional development activities and demonstrate proficiency in computerized nursing informatics.
