Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides holistic care to patients and their families in the Emergency Room (ER). This role emphasizes independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions in accordance with established standards and competencies specific to emergency care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments and establish nursing diagnoses based on individual needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, revising them as necessary.
  • Coordinate care among various healthcare disciplines and delegate tasks to other care providers as appropriate.
  • Participate in shared accountability and decision-making regarding nursing practices.
  • Enhance practice standards and the care environment to promote exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting.
  • At least 1 year of travel nursing experience.
  • Current certifications in BLS and ACLS from AHA or ARC.
  • Certification in ENPC, NIHSS, and TNCC.
  • Experience in a Trauma Level I setting.
  • Proficient in caring for all patient populations across the lifespan.
  • Experience using Epic electronic health record system.
  • Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.

Additional Requirements

  • Active state nursing license in Minnesota.
  • Completion of a skills checklist current within the last year, relevant to the specialty.
  • Two supervisory references with employment dates provided.
