Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience
• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred
• Strong IV insertion and emergency nursing skills
• Demonstrated experience caring for critically ill patients

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with emergency and urgent medical conditions.
• Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patients based on acuity and clinical needs.
• Initiate and maintain IV access, administer medications, and deliver ordered treatments.
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients, recognize changes in condition, and escalate care promptly.
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support timely evaluation and treatment.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans.
• Promote patient safety, compassionate communication, and high-quality emergency care throughout each shift.
