- Weekend Coverage: Required according to the rotating schedule
- Holiday Coverage: Required based on unit needs
- Call: No on-call requirement
- Orientation: Virtual Monday orientation offered weekly
Emergency Room Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Kansas
- At least 1 year of recent Emergency Room or emergency department nursing experience
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
- Ability to float to units within the scope of practice
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
Travel ER Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions
- Perform focused patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses
- Prioritize care and respond efficiently to changing patient conditions in a fast-paced emergency department
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established clinical standards
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate timely patient care
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening conditions and emergency situations
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support safe transitions of care
- Float to other appropriate units as needed while practicing within established competencies
