Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in fast-paced emergency settings and a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Department.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient progress and report any significant changes to the care team.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
• Assist with various procedures and interventions typical in an emergency setting.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland.
• Minimum of 1 year of emergency nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
• First-time travelers with strong skills and experience in emergency care are welcome to apply.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility in scheduling. The successful candidate will work 3x12 hour night shifts, with an average of 36-48 hours per week. Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend, and holiday shifts are scheduled as needed.

Patient Care Environment

The Emergency Department serves a diverse patient population, accommodating all age ranges, from infants to geriatrics. The department operates with an average daily census of 130 patients and has a total of 47 beds, ensuring a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

Candidates must be comfortable floating within the specialty as needed. There are no pre-scheduled on-call requirements for this position.
