Job Summary

The competent Nurse, working in a high-acuity clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing both routine and complex care and developing ability to handle various clinical contingencies. The Nurse will also make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to manage the clinical environment efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Meet expectations of nursing competencies, including leadership and self-management.
• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments as per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, family members, and caregivers on care practices and resources.

Qualifications

Education/Skills:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

• BLS certification via AHA required.
• ACLS certification via AHA required.
• PALS certification via AHA required.
• De-Escalation certification required.
• Active RN License in the state of employment or compact.

Position Requirements

• Newly hired experienced RNs must attend orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• Participate in a residency program or specific orientation as a new hire.
• Competency verification requirements must be completed annually.

Work Schedule

Full-time position with night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
