Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a very high acuity unit, responsible for providing routine and complex care to patients. The nurse will encounter a diverse range of cases including strokes, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis. Trauma cases may also be observed, although this is not a trauma-designated unit. The role requires independent practice while managing various clinical contingencies.

Shift Information

• Shift: Mids – 12 PM to 12 AM
• Start: ASAP

Required Certifications

• BLS certification via AHA
• ACLS certification via AHA
• PALS certification via AHA
• TNCC certification
• De-Escalation certification
• RN License in state of employment or compact

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrates leadership as a self and peers, meeting OneCHRISTUS Competencies.
• Utilizes the nursing process to provide care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Position Requirements

• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member, with competency validated through specific programs.
• All newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or specific orientation.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is necessary.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position. The standard hours are from 12 PM to 12 AM.
