Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Position Overview

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to patients experiencing medical emergencies. This position requires a dedicated and skilled nurse to assess patient conditions, administer treatments, and work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Shift Information

The RN will work 12-hour shifts, with rotations covering afternoons and nights. A commitment of 36 hours per week is expected.

Weekend and Holiday Requirements

• Required to work every other weekend.
• Availability for holidays, as needed.

Orientation

Travelers will need to complete an 8-hour non-billable orientation prior to starting the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient conditions in the emergency room setting.
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and treatment plans.
• Respond to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of current Emergency Room experience.
• Experience with Meditech Expanse is highly preferred.
• Must possess a valid Massachusetts RN license.
• Current certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and BCLS are required.
• Must have a reliable vehicle for transportation.
• All scheduling requests, including time off, should be submitted with the initial application.
