Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ER)

Job Description

The Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients in the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and prioritize patient needs in the emergency setting.
• Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications and treatments.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient assessments and care plans accurately and in a timely manner.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and discharge instructions.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards.

Schedule & Requirements

This position requires a commitment to 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a total of 36 hours per week. The candidate must be available to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Please note that block scheduling and 48-hour guarantees are not available for this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in an Emergency Department environment is required.
• Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia course is strongly preferred.
• Certifications required at the time of application include:
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Active Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Active American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Experience with Meditech Expanse is strongly preferred.
• Must possess a current Massachusetts RN License.
• Must have own transportation for this assignment.

Additional Information

All requests for time off must be communicated at the time of application, with a maximum of 5 days accepted. Additionally, travelers may be required to work during specific holiday periods including Thanksgiving and Christmas.
