Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or proof that the application process has been initiated
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC or TNS certifications
• At least 1 year of emergency room nursing or acute care nursing experience required
• 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• Prior travel nurse assignment experience preferred
• Ability to work in a high-acuity emergency department with a wide range of patient presentations
• Comfort interpreting cardiac rhythms and responding to life-threatening changes
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients across the lifespan in a busy emergency department
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients based on acuity and clinical need
• Care for stable and critically ill patients, including those experiencing cardiac events, strokes, and trauma-related conditions
• Titrate and manage vasoactive, cardiac, and antihypertensive drips as indicated
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and take appropriate action when life-threatening changes occur
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, charge nurses, techs, and support staff to deliver safe, efficient emergency nursing care
• Assist with trauma, resuscitation, and high-acuity patient interventions as needed
• Document care accurately in EPIC and maintain strong attention to detail
• Support a team-oriented, patient-centered environment in a fast-paced ER setting
