• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights (3:00 PM - 3:00 AM)
• Shifts Per Week: Approximately 3 shifts per week
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Schedule: Every other weekend; holidays as needed
• Call: No call requirement
• Charting System: EPIC
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required; 2 years of emergency nursing experience preferred
• Prior travel nurse experience preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC or TNS certification required
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond quickly to life-threatening changes
• Experience titrating vasopressor, cardiac, and antihypertensive drips
• Strong general nursing skills with comfort in a high-volume, high-acuity emergency department
• SANE RN experience and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Must be comfortable supporting a drug-free workplace and completing required screenings

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population with varying acuity levels
• Assess, stabilize, and monitor patients experiencing strokes, heart attacks, trauma, respiratory distress, and other emergent conditions
• Care for critically ill patients and support resuscitation efforts when needed
• Titrate and manage IV drips, including vasopressors, cardiac medications, and antihypertensives
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, house supervisors, respiratory therapists, ED techs, and other healthcare team members
• Interpret telemetry rhythms and act promptly on abnormal findings
• Assist with trauma and critical care patients once stabilized in the trauma bay
• Float as a help-all when needed in accordance with department needs
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and help ensure a safe, efficient patient flow
