Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills and qualifications to provide quality care to patients in a busy emergency department.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics in a large, high-acuity emergency department.
  • Assess patient needs and develop personalized care plans based on individual patient conditions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and successful outcomes.
  • Document patient care accurately using electronic medical record systems.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
  • Uphold all safety and infection control protocols in line with best practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in an emergency department setting; first-time travelers are not accepted.
  • Completion of at least 3 ER travel contracts is required.
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and PALS.
  • Proficiency in using Epic electronic health record system.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with a patient ratio of 1:4.

Work Environment

  • This is a non-trauma emergency department that serves a diverse patient population, averaging 165-175 patients per day.
  • The emergency department features a 59-bed capacity and is certified for Stroke and STEMI response.

Work Schedule

  • Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00.
  • Must be available to work every other weekend.
  • Requests for time off (RTO) are limited to a maximum of 7 days; certain blackout dates apply.

Holidays

  • Travelers are expected to work one major holiday if it falls within their assignment period. Additional holiday requirements apply for multiple holidays.
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day.
