Required Qualifications

• RN Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of acute care RN experience. ED, ICU, or acute care Med/Surg experience accepted.
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted only with 2+ years of RN experience.
• RN License: Active South Dakota RN license or qualifying compact multistate license.
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • TNCC
  • PALS
• Preferred Certifications: NIHSS and CPI.
• Charting: Epic EMR experience required.
• Floating: Must be able to float between ER and ICU, with Med/Surg assignments also possible.
• Radius Rule: Must live more than 100 miles from the facility.

Required Clinical Skills

• General Emergency Department nursing experience.
• Critical care skills for ICU patients and ICU holds.
• Trauma assessment and management.
• Complex wound care and dressing changes.
• Strong nursing assessment and prioritization skills.
• Experience caring for patients with sepsis, DKA, ARDS, MI, stroke, trauma, and alcohol-related conditions.
• Ability to care for patients across all age groups, including pediatric and adult populations.

Scheduling & Submission Requirements

• Must be willing and clinically qualified to work in the ER, ICU, and Med/Surg.
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved.
• Contract extension required for missed weeks (1 additional week for each week missed).
• Previous permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as travelers, subject to eligibility and internal reference review.
• Manager interview required.
