Travel Nursing Job Details

- Shift: 12-hour mid/night shifts; typical start times are 1500 or 1900

- Schedule: Variable weekends, no on-call requirement, and schedules provided approximately three weeks at a time
- Holiday Requirement: Two of five major holidays, based on department needs
- Patient Volume: Approximately 200 patients per day; typical ratios are 1:4-5, with flexibility based on acuity and staffing
- Charting: Recent Epic experience required
- Parking: Free parking in designated areas
Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Washington
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI/MOAB certifications
- Recent Epic experience required
- Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV, medication administration, and emergency nursing skills
- Experience with procedural sedation and blood administration
- Familiarity with emergency cardiac medications and high-acuity medical patients
- Ability to complete and pass the required traveler telemetry competency before the start date
- TNK administration experience preferred
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and a patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric
Travel Emergency Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, DKA, respiratory emergencies, mental health conditions, and other high-acuity presentations
- Assess, prioritize, monitor, and reassess patients while responding quickly to changes in clinical status
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and safely administer medications, including cardiac medications and emergency drips as indicated
- Perform IV starts, blood administration, procedural sedation support, and other general Emergency Department procedures
- Care for patients across the lifespan, including a high geriatric population and a smaller pediatric population requiring transfer when appropriate
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social work, security, emergency technicians, and other members of the care team
- Support a safe, organized, patient-centered environment in a high-volume Emergency Department
