Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department or Emergency Room nursing experience
  • Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Washington
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI/MOAB certifications
  • Recent Epic electronic health record experience
  • Successful completion of the required traveler telemetry competency before start
  • Proficiency with cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV therapy, medication administration, and common Emergency Department drips
  • Ability to care for pediatric through geriatric patients in a high-acuity trauma and emergency care environment
  • Strong communication, adaptability, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills

Travel ER Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to emergency patients across the lifespan
  • Assess and prioritize patients presenting with trauma, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, respiratory emergencies, mental health concerns, and other acute conditions
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention
  • Administer medications, cardiac therapies, blood products, procedural sedation, and other emergency treatments according to established protocols
  • Support stroke and cardiac response workflows, including TNK administration when indicated and within competency
  • Perform IV starts, focused assessments, reassessments, and ongoing documentation in Epic
  • Collaborate with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social work, technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
  • Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions and participate in resuscitation and emergency response activities
  • Maintain accurate documentation, follow patient safety standards, and promote a positive experience for patients and families
