Travel RN Job Details

  • Location: Milford, Connecticut
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090–$2,200
  • Assignment: 13 weeks; October 30, 2026 through January 29, 2027
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week; three 12-hour night shifts
  • Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Healthcare Setting: General Emergency Department serving adult and pediatric patients within a short-term acute care hospital and Level II trauma environment
  • Documentation System: EPIC
  • Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse assignment; one opening available
  • Additional Scheduling: Flexibility to float as needed is required

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department Registered Nurse experience
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Connecticut, or eligibility to obtain one before the start date
  • Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
  • Experience in a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department
  • Strong dysrhythmia management and emergency department triage skills
  • Experience with central line and arterial line care, IV initiation and maintenance, and phlebotomy
  • Clinical experience administering IV vasopressors and caring for mechanically ventilated patients
  • Familiarity with CPAP/BiPAP, isolation precautions, and emergency nursing documentation
  • Ability to work every other weekend and float when needed
  • One professional reference required
  • This Connecticut travel nursing opportunity is not available to candidates residing within 75 miles of the assignment location

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid assessments, prioritize care, and triage patients according to acuity
  • Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and pediatric Emergency Department patients
  • Monitor and manage patients experiencing dysrhythmias and other acute or critical conditions
  • Initiate and maintain peripheral IVs, manage central and arterial lines, and perform phlebotomy
  • Administer IV vasopressors and other emergency medications according to clinical protocols
  • Support patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, or mechanical ventilation
  • Apply appropriate isolation precautions and personal protective equipment practices
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in EPIC
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
  • Float to support departmental needs while maintaining high standards of patient safety and emergency nursing care
