Travel RN – Pediatric Emergency Department

Location: St. Mary’s Hospital, Richmond, VA
Contract: 13–16 weeks | 36 guaranteed hours per week
Anticipated start: September 28–October 12, 2026
Openings: 1

St. Mary’s Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department RN for its 14-bed pediatric ED, caring for patients from birth through age 20. Pediatric-specific experience is not required; strong ER experience and conscious sedation skills are important.

Schedule

• Rotating 12-hour shifts, primarily 7:30 a.m.–8:00 p.m. or 11:30 a.m.–12:00 a.m.
• Every other weekend and every other holiday
• No call

Requirements

• Active RN license and at least 1 year of ER experience; 2 or more years preferred
• Conscious sedation experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS certifications
• CPI certification, or completion of an onsite de-escalation module
• Copy of nursing diploma or transcript
• Ability to pass an EKG exam at orientation; a study guide is available

Travel eligibility: Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility.

The unit uses Epic, Alaris pumps, and EPOC and i-STAT point-of-care testing. The listed nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3
