Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment, primarily managing admitted patients. This position requires a strong background in Level 1 trauma care and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications, including IV medications, while adhering to the seven rights of medication administration.
  • Document and communicate clinical findings effectively.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal care.
  • Assist with the care of patients in ED Holding and potential floating to Adult PCUs as needed.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with valid state licensure; pending licensure acceptable at time of submission.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department; candidates with 1.5 years may be considered based on qualifications.
  • Strong preference for candidates with Level 1 trauma experience.
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIH (NIH can pend until compliance document due date).
  • Experience in an emergency or trauma setting is strongly preferred.

Work Schedule

This position involves night shifts with 4x12-hour shifts. Travelers should expect to fulfill 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve & New Year's Day.

Additional Information

  • Travel experience is strongly preferred, but candidates with 2 or more years of Level 1 experience may be considered.
  • Weekend shifts will be scheduled as needed, with weekend days being Saturday and Sunday, and weekend nights considered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • No local candidates within 100 miles will be accepted.
  • The facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center with 554 staffed beds utilizing Cerner for charting.
  • Parking is available at no cost.
  • Guaranteed hours are based on contracted hours (36/48/40 hours per week), with the possibility of being called off three times during a 13-week assignment.
