TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Canton, Ohio.

Job Description & Requirements

Unit: Emergency Department
 

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of ER nursing experience
  • Active Ohio or compact RN license
  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS and TNCC
  • Ability to care for patients across all ESI acuity levels

Patient care and floating

  • Ratios: Typically 1:3–4; boarded patients 1:5–6
  • Patients: Primarily ESI levels 1–4, with a small number of level 5 patients. Pediatric patients account for less than 10% of volume.
  • Common cases: Cardiac emergencies, stroke alerts, respiratory distress, sepsis, abdominal pain/GI bleeding, injuries and trauma, psychiatric/substance-related emergencies, and metabolic abnormalities
  • Floating: None
  • Application of discharge splints or casts is not a required traveler skill.

Charting and equipment

  • EMR: Cerner FirstNet, including medication administration/documentation and electronic specimen collection
  • Equipment: Alaris pumps, Omnicell, Philips monitors, Sara Stedy and standard ED resuscitation, airway and orthopedic equipment
