Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)

Shift Details

This position requires a commitment to a 12-hour night shift from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM. Weekend requirements include working every third weekend, with no call obligations.

Unit Information

• Main Emergency Department with 35 beds
• 7 Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) spaces
• 4 hallway spaces
• Emergency Department CDU with 16 beds

Role Responsibilities

The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a team handling various critical cases, including ECMO placements and managing art lines. Familiarity with Philips monitors and working alongside respiratory therapists is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Level II Emergency Department experience preferred
• Experience in a teaching hospital is preferred
• Prior travel experience is a plus
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC, NIHSS, and CEN certifications preferred

Patient Care Ratio

The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:3 to 1:4, which may be adjusted for patients requiring intensive care.
