Job Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or compact RN license at the time of submission
• 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Strong community hospital Emergency Department experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• NIHSS certification required
• CPI certification required
• Comfortable with patient ratios of 1:4, with assignments up to 1:5 for lower acuity
• Epic experience preferred
• Ability to adapt to a busy, high-acuity ED environment and float within specialty as needed
• First-time travelers considered with strong Emergency Department experience

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a busy Emergency Department
• Perform triage, focused assessment, and rapid intervention for urgent and emergent conditions
• Monitor and manage patients with complex diagnoses in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Support care for observation patients within the ED hold/observation area as assigned
• Administer medications, initiate IVs, manage blood products, and support emergency treatments
• Assist with procedures including intubation support, chest tube management, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, phlebotomy, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain safe, compassionate, and efficient patient care while adapting to changing needs throughout the shift
