Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ER)

Job Description

The Emergency Room (ER) is a critical area focused on providing immediate care for serious medical conditions and injuries. Emergency departments operate 24/7 to address emergencies that may occur at any time. It is essential for healthcare professionals in this setting to be knowledgeable about a range of conditions that require urgent attention.

Conditions that necessitate treatment in an emergency department include, but are not limited to:

  • Symptoms of a stroke, including sudden numbness in an extremity
  • Symptoms of a heart attack, including chest pain and/or shortness of breath
  • Seizures or loss of consciousness
  • Severe injuries such as fractures or head trauma
  • Vomiting or coughing up blood
  • Deep cuts or uncontrolled bleeding
  • Severe burns
  • Severe abdominal pain

Shift Notes

This position requires rotating 12-hour shifts with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week.

Weekend Requirements

Commitment to work every other weekend is expected.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is required.
  • Active certification in ACLS, TNCC, BLS (AHA), and PALS (AHA).
  • TNCC certification is required; ENPC certification is not accepted.
  • Current active state nursing license in Michigan is mandatory at the time of application.
