Emergency Department RN Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000–$2,100
- Schedule: Day shifts, 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Additional Scheduling: Two Mondays and two Fridays during each six-week period
- Contract Duration: 13-week nursing contract
- Start Date: November 10, 2026
- Orientation: November 10, 2026
- Holiday Requirement: One winter holiday and one summer holiday
- Time-Off Policy: Limited requested time off available
Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in New Jersey or a valid Compact RN license at the time of submission
- BSN required
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, including emergency department experience
- Experience caring for patients across all age groups, including pediatric patients
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Current influenza vaccination required
- Ability to work the required day, weekend, weekday, and holiday schedule
Emergency Department Nursing Responsibilities
- Assess, triage, and prioritize patients presenting with a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions
- Deliver safe, evidence-based emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
- Monitor patient status, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments, perform nursing procedures, and evaluate patient responses
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate timely treatment
- Provide patient and family education, emotional support, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support efficient emergency department flow
