Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The role involves providing high-quality care to patients in dynamic and often high-pressure situations. This position requires a commitment to working night shifts and the flexibility to meet weekend and holiday staffing needs.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum of two weekends per month if needed.
• Holiday Requirement: Must plan to work one of the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day, as determined by the organization.

Responsibilities

As an Emergency Room Registered Nurse, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Conducting assessments and triaging patients based on their conditions.
• Administering medications and performing necessary medical procedures.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation, including utilizing Epic electronic health records.

Qualifications

• Required Licensure and Certifications:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TN (Tennessee) or Compact License required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ER experience is required.
• Epic experience within the last 18 months is required and must be detailed on your profile.
• Ultrasound IV experience is preferred but not required.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) certification is preferred but not required.

Additional Information

• No on-call duties; however, overtime may be available.
• Local candidates and first-time travelers are welcome to apply and will be considered at the same rate.

Interview Process

If the traveler does not pass the Epic test-out on site, an additional 10 unbillable orientation hours will be added to the contract.
