Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position is available in an urban healthcare setting. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, including neonates through geriatrics. The facility features 24 beds and sees approximately 115 patients daily, with a focus on trauma care, sepsis, COVID-19, stroke, STEMI, and other urgent medical conditions.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, variable start times, with a cycle made in 6-week increments; scheduled 36 hours per week, receiving 1-2 weeks prior to the schedule start date.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, minimum of 3+ years of ER experience with at least 1 year of travel ER experience, and current licensure.
  • Preferred Qualifications: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
  • Patient Ratios: RN: 1:5; during surge times, the fifth patient will be low acuity requiring minimal resources.
  • Support within the Department: ER Tech: 1:10-12 ratio, charge RN, phlebotomy support for hard sticks, hospitalists available.
  • Technology/Equipment: EMR system experience preferred (EPIC), bedside monitors, central monitors, IV pumps (Alaris), Pyxis medication dispensing system.
  • Orientation: 1-2 shifts with an educator, including access, modules, and unit-specific training.
  • Float: None.
  • Other Notes: Scrub color navy blue, free parking, no artificial fingernails or extenders during direct patient care, and natural nail tips kept under one inch.
