Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER)
Greensboro, NC
⏳ 13 Weeks Contract (Extension Possible)

Shift: Night – 3x12 Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

• At least 8 weekend shifts per contract required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Float required as needed
• Typical Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
• EPIC documentation system utilized

Unit Details:

• General Emergency Department
• Combined Adult & Pediatric patient population
• Non-Trauma Emergency Department

Requirements:

• Active RN License
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification required
• NIHSS Certification required
• PALS Certification required
• EPIC experience required

⭐ Preferred:

• Strong triage and emergency stabilization experience
• Previous experience caring for adult and pediatric emergency patients

Required Skills:

• Emergency Department nursing
• Triage and rapid patient assessment
• Blood product administration

• Central line care and management
• Phlebotomy and IV starts
• Continuous IV sedation

• IV vasopressor administration
• Procedural sedation administration
• CPAP/BiPAP management

• Ventilator management
• Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) interpretation
• Emergency patient stabilization

• EPIC documentation proficiency
• Multidisciplinary patient care coordination

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
• Perform rapid assessments, triage, and prioritize patient care

• Initiate IV access, administer medications, blood products, and IV infusions
• Monitor ventilated patients and those requiring CPAP/BiPAP support

• Administer procedural sedation and vasoactive medications as indicated
• Interpret ABGs and respond to changes in patient condition

• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC
• Float as needed to support departmental operations

• Collaborate with emergency physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered emergency care
