Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ER)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Emergency Room (ER) care. In this role, you will provide critical support to patients experiencing severe medical conditions and injuries in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care in emergency situations, assessing and triaging patients rapidly.
  • Utilize nursing protocols and evidence-based practices to manage diverse and acute patient populations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Monitor patient vitals and symptoms, ensuring timely interventions based on need.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families regarding emergency care and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with medical and legal standards.

Shift Details

  • 12-hour shifts with a 36-hour guarantee.
  • Weekend requirements include working every third weekend, available for shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, from 6 PM to 6 AM.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department (ED) setting.
  • Current certifications: ACLS, TNCC, BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA).
  • No on-call requirements.
  • Active nursing license in the state of Michigan at the time of application.

Emergency Care Overview

The Emergency Department is crucial for addressing serious medical conditions and injuries that require immediate attention. Key situations for which patients should seek treatment include:

  • Symptoms of a stroke, such as sudden numbness or weakness.
  • Symptoms of a heart attack, including chest pain or shortness of breath.
  • Seizures or loss of consciousness.
  • Severe injuries or traumatic incidents, including fractures or head trauma.
  • Signs of significant internal bleeding or severe cuts.
  • Severe burns or substantial abdominal pain.
