Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position available in Spokane, Washington. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care in a Level 3 Trauma Center with a busy, team-oriented environment. The position requires adaptability to a variety of patient types and clinical situations, with a focus on patient safety and efficient care delivery.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), MOAB/CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute). Candidate must have 3-5 years of experience in a Level 3 or higher emergency department.
- Preferred Qualifications: PALS or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses). Skills required include Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI), conscious sedations, lines, drains, tubes, and general ER skills.
- Support on the Unit: Availability of CNA/ER Techs (2-4), capable of splinting, IV discharges, wound care, and EKGs. Phlebotomy performed by RN or techs. Support staff such as receptionists, charge nurses, hospitalists, and resource nurses are available 24/7.
- Technology/Equipment: EMR system EPIC is required, with Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and bedside/centralized telemetry monitoring.
- Orientation: 1 week of general orientation, followed by 24 weeks of unit-specific training.
- Additional Information: Utilizes a 1:1 model for Critical Care patients. No float requirements specified.
- Shift Details: Night shifts, starting on 09/08/2026, with a cycle that includes some shifts on an alternate shift basis as per unit needs.
- Other Notes: Supports a professional environment with a focus on teamwork; stress management is important due to a busy unit with frequent holds.
