Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join the team at Parkview Regional Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience and be comfortable caring for patients in a high-acuity, Level 2 trauma environment.

Emergency Department Layout
The Emergency Department features an L-shaped layout with:
- 23 non-monitored private rooms
- 13 monitored rooms, which can accommodate 2 patients when needed
- 4 resuscitation bays for critical trauma and medical patients
The department utilizes a Team Nursing model to promote efficient patient flow and seamless collaboration among care providers.
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Current Indiana RN license or compact RN license
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current PALS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current TNCC or ATCN certification required
- NIHSS certification strongly preferred
- Candidate must disclose any requested time off during the assignment
- 1099 status must be identified at submission, if applicable
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
- Assess, triage, monitor, and stabilize patients with a wide range of medical and traumatic conditions
- Provide care for high-acuity and critically ill patients
- Assist with trauma and emergency resuscitation
- Administer medications and treatments safely
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC
- Work effectively within the department's Team Nursing model
Schedule & Shifts
- All shifts are possible
- Candidates should be flexible and available to work the assigned shift schedule
- No floating to other departments
Orientation
Orientation is mandatory for all 7 scheduled days and consists of:
- Week 1: Monday–Friday, 8-hour days
- Week 2: Monday–Tuesday, 8-hour days
Mandatory attendance is required for all 7 days of orientation.
Parkview Assignment Requirements & Important Information
- Local rate applies to clinicians whose permanent address is within 50 miles.
- Local bill rate is reduced by 12% from the regular bill rate, with applicable rate multipliers calculated from the reduced regular bill rate.
- The facility may call off or cancel up to 24 hours during a 13-week assignment.
- Orientation includes 8 non-billable hours.
- Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.
- Clinicians returning within 12 months of their last worked date are not eligible for non-billable orientation.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled Emergency Department RN with at least 2 years of experience in a fast-paced emergency setting. Candidates should have strong trauma and critical-care skills, excellent assessment abilities, and the flexibility to work across all shifts in a Level 2 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center.
