Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced emergency setting. The ideal candidate should have strong emergency nursing experience and be confident in triage, patient prioritization, critical interventions, and emergency life-saving procedures.
Unit Details
- Department Size: 15 beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Patient Population: All ages
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Monitoring: Cardiac monitors and computerized charting
- Medication System: Med Select
- Dress Code: Caribbean Blue
- Floating: No floating to other departments
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Emergency Department triage and patient prioritization
- Assess and care for patients across all age groups
- Provide timely interventions for emergent and life-threatening conditions
- Perform and assist with ACLS and PALS interventions
- Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate emergency measures
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care in a high-acuity environment
- Accurately document patient care and interventions using Cerner
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
- Current Indiana or Compact RN License
- BLS – AHA Required
- ACLS – AHA Required
- PALS – Required
- ENPC – Required
- TNCC – Required
- ASN or BSN in Nursing
Schedule
- 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required
- Call/standby requirements are not specified
Orientation & Training
- Facility-specific orientation provided through Parkview
- Cerner orientation included
- Orientation consists of 8 non-billable hours
Parkview Assignment Notes
- Local candidates: Clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles are eligible, with a 12% reduction from the regular bill rate
- Call-Off Policy: Facility may call off/cancel up to 24 hours per 13-week assignment
- Orientation: 8 hours are non-billable and guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
- Clinicians returning within 12 months of their last worked date are not eligible for non-billable orientation
- Facility accepts local travelers subject to the applicable rate reduction
