Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER)

 

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate should have strong recent ER experience and the ability to provide safe, efficient care to patients with a wide range of emergency and critical conditions.

  • Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Blocked Scheduling: Not permitted
  • Local Rate: Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility will receive a bill rate $15 lower than the travel rate

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience
  • 2 years of recent ER experience required
  • Strong emergency nursing experience with the ability to manage high-acuity patients

Required Clinical Skills

The ER RN should be proficient in:

  • Interpreting and managing heart rhythm changes/dysrhythmias
  • Caring for critically ill patients with multi-organ conditions
  • Administering blood products
  • Managing and maintaining central lines
  • Starting and maintaining IVs
  • Administering IV sedation and vasopressors
  • Caring for patients experiencing stroke/CVA
  • Caring for ventilated patients
  • Managing patients on BiPAP/CPAP
  • Interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Following isolation precautions
  • Performing emergency department triage

Licensure & Certifications

Required:

  • Active state RN license (New York or Compact)
  • If the candidate does not currently hold a NY RN license, they must have already submitted their NY license application and provide the application date
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NIHSS
  • PALS

Time-Off Policy

  • All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
  • No additional time off will be approved after an offer is made
  • Traveler is responsible for arranging coverage for any additional shifts when required

Additional Requirements

  • Nursing license must have no disciplinary issues or “hits”
  • Interview: Phone or virtual interview
