• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, 7:30 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.
• Shifts Per Week: 3 shifts per week
• Schedule: Every other weekend and major holiday coverage required
• Unit Size: 30 beds with 14 fast-track beds, plus additional hallway beds as needed
• Patient Population: Community emergency department serving neonates through adults

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Virginia or compact licensure eligibility
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience required
• Conscious sedation experience required
• BLS and ACLS required
• CPI/de-escalation training required
• Ability to pass an EKG exam during orientation
• EPIC experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality emergency nursing care in a busy ER setting
• Perform patient assessments, triage, prioritize care, and respond to changing conditions quickly
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with policy and best clinical practices
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, and support staff
• Provide care for medical, pediatric, geriatric, trauma, and behavioral health patients
• Support stabilization, resuscitation, patient flow, and throughput across the emergency department
• Use emergency equipment such as monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and bedside technology
• Promote a safe, calm, and compassionate experience for patients and families
