  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

  • Assignment Length: 20 weeks

  • End Date: March 6, 2027
  • Orientation: Held every other Monday
  • Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required; at least one major holiday assignment required
  • Location: Lynchburg, Virginia — a welcoming Central Virginia community with scenic surroundings, outdoor recreation, parks, trails, and local amenities

Job Requirements

  • Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license at time of submission
  • Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience in a similar-size ED
  • Trauma Level I or II experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
  • Trauma certification preferred/required as outlined in the posting (ATCN, TNCC, or ATLC)
  • CPI certification required before start
  • Prior Cerner experience strongly preferred
  • All requested time off must be submitted with the application packet

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced acute care setting
  • Assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs quickly and accurately
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical support staff to support safe patient flow
  • Deliver skilled care during night shifts and respond to high-acuity emergency situations
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow established emergency department protocols
  • Work every other weekend and designated holiday shifts as required
