Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position in a vibrant facility located in Libertyville, Illinois. This role involves providing acute care in a busy Level 1 Trauma Center with a high patient volume, including cardiac, stroke, trauma, and behavioral health cases. The ER staff supports a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics, with a team committed to delivering high-quality emergency care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Evening shifts totaling 12 hours each, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule cycle is created for 6 weeks at a time with self-scheduling options.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC. Two (2) years of recent Emergency Department experience, including skills in IV starts, trauma, stroke care with TPA administration, medication titration, and US-guided IV placement. Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records is expected.
- Preferred Qualifications: CPI, MOAB, TCRN, TNS, and ENPC certifications are preferred.
- Support on the Unit: The team includes ED Techs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, task RN, alert RN, and 24/7 physician and mid-level provider coverage. RTs are available around the clock.
- Technology/Equipment: Familiarity with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, PXY medication dispensing, and Ranger for massive transfusions.
- Orientation: Day 1 includes hospital and unit tours and badge issuance, followed by orientation with a preceptor over days 2-3 during 12-hour shifts.
- Other Notes: Trainees may need to adapt to scrub color coding (Navy Blue for RNs, teal for CNAs). Parking is provided free of charge.
