Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates comprehensive nursing care for patients in the Emergency Room setting. This role involves active participation in patient and family education and demonstrates leadership by collaborating effectively with ancillary nursing staff and other members of the healthcare team. The RN upholds the highest standards of professional nursing practice in clinical settings while recognizing the unique needs of each patient.

The Registered Nurse is committed to ensuring that patients receive high-quality nursing care, which includes establishing mutual goals with patients and safeguarding their rights and privacy. This position requires accountability to ethical and professional standards as defined by nursing regulatory agencies and the State of Michigan Public Health Code.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for assigned patients.
• Engage in teaching and counseling for patients and their families.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to maintain high standards of nursing practice.
• Advocate for patient rights and ensure confidentiality is maintained.
• Adhere to the ethical and professional standards defined in the ANA Code for Nurses.
• Demonstrate competence in nursing practice and accept responsibility for individual actions and judgments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department (ED) is required.
• Certifications required: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and BLS (AHA).
• Current active Michigan state nursing license is required.

Work Schedule

• 36 hours guaranteed weekly.
• Weekend shifts are required.
