Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient conditions, documenting changes and responding to emergencies as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members regarding care plans and treatment modalities.
• Participate in the orientation and training of new nursing staff.
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

Schedule and Shift

This position requires working weekends and varying scheduled days based on staffing needs. Candidates must be willing to work nights and will have the option for either 36 or 48 hours per week. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, and candidates are required to work at least two out of three winter holidays.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license; VA license pending submission may be acceptable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications required (TNCC may be pending at time of application but must be obtained before starting).
• A minimum of two years of nursing experience is required.
• At least one year of experience in a Level 1 Emergency Department or two years in a Level 2 Emergency Department, including pediatric experience.

Time Off

Approval for time off is limited to a maximum of 40 hours.
