Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team. This position requires a high level of critical thinking and the ability to manage a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. The ideal candidate will have experience in a non-trauma emergency department and be proficient in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.

Position Information

• Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Not guaranteed off, but schedules aim for fairness
• Call Requirements: None

Qualifications

• Licensure: Valid RN license in the state
• Required Certifications:
  • ACLS
  • BCLS/BLS
  • PALS
  • NIHSS
  • TNCC
• Preferred Certification: CPI
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role

Unit Information

• Trauma Level: Level 2
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Equipment Used: US, bladder scanner, neuro tele computer, Care Aware handheld devices
• EHR: Omnicell, EPIC, SBAR
• Patient Population: Pediatrics to Geriatrics

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Effectively triage patients based on acuity and manage treatment plans.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage ventilated patients.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize Teleneurology services for stroke management in coordination with a partner facility.

Work Environment

This role takes place in a fast-paced emergency department with 4 critical care bays. The team is committed to providing high-quality care and fostering a supportive environment for both staff and patients.

Dress Code

Scrubs should be navy blue.
