Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Job Description

This urgent opportunity is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities spanning a range of emergency care tasks.

Shift Requirements

Three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Rotating schedules of 36/48 hours available for those interested.
Weekend shifts (at least 8 per contract) and holiday coverage required.
Floating to different departments may be necessary based on staffing needs.

Responsibilities

Administer blood products and manage central line care.
Perform phlebotomy and start intravenous (IV) lines.
Provide continuous IV sedation and manage IV vasopressors.
Administer procedural sedation as needed.
Utilize CPAP/BiPAP and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) for ventilated patients.
Conduct triage assessments and ensure patient safety and comfort.
Work efficiently within a 1:5 patient ratio.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting.
First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS are required.
Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is preferred.
