Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The RN will mainly work on the 1S Observation unit but may also be required to float to other Med-Surg units, including Respiratory, Stroke, and Cardiac, as well as potentially the Emergency Department (ED) if appropriately skilled.

Shift Information

The position requires availability for evening shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend required. Holiday coverage is also necessary, and taking call is a rare occurrence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the 1S Observation unit.
  • Float to other Med-Surg units and possibly the ED as needed.
  • Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation.
  • Assess and monitor patient conditions, particularly in telemetry and medical surgical settings.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license.
  • Current proficiency in Epic EMR (refresher courses or one-on-one training will not be provided).
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of current/recent experience in Telemetry or Med-Surg nursing.
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips; competency will be assessed on the first day.
  • Immediate termination will occur if any candidate fails to pass competency testing or if Epic proficiency is not demonstrated.
