Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) registered nurse position located in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing acute patient care in a fast-paced environment, primarily during night shifts, with a focus on cardiac, stroke, and trauma cases. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality emergency services.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with potential swing shifts from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to practice as a registered nurse, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or American Red Cross (ARC), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), 2 years of ER experience, strong IV skills, and EPIC electronic medical record experience. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility.
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Typically handles approximately 20 patients per day, with an influx during flu season.
  • Nursing team includes charge nurses, nurse aides, 24/7 emergency physicians, and support staff such as RRTs, lab personnel, pharmacy, and security.
  • The unit contains 2 triage beds, 5 treatment beds, and 1 trauma bay.
  • No seclusion or specialized psych rooms are available.
  • Limited seclusion and psych-related room requirements.
  • Bed and trauma bay management, charting through EPIC.
  • Orientation includes two shifts with a preceptor. Additionally, candidates may need to work a few swing shifts during the rotation.
