Genie Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a busy Emergency Department in Latrobe, PA. This position provides care to patients across the lifespan, from neonates and infants through geriatrics, with a wide range of emergency and medical diagnoses.

 

The department is a stroke-certified and chest-pain referral hospital and also supports adolescent psychiatric patients.

 

Approximate Daily Census: 80 visits
Rooms: 30
Beds: 28
Charting: Cerner

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience
  • Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license required at submission
  • Previous charge experience preferred/required: 1 year
  • Cerner experience preferred
  • Travel experience not required
  • Previous hospital experience accepted
  • Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital and, if needed, to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius

Required Certifications

  • BLS – AHA
  • ACLS – AHA
  • NIHSS
  • CPI
  • PALS

Emergency Department Skills

  • General adult/pediatric emergency care
  • Triage

  • BiPAP/CPAP management
  • Ventilated patients
  • Chest tube management
  • Burns
  • CVA/stroke
  • Head injuries

  • Drug overdose
  • Hyperglycemia
  • Infection and isolation precautions
  • Emergency medications
  • IV vasopressors
  • Continuous IV sedation/paralytics
  • Blood product administration
  • Procedural sedation
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • 12-lead EKG/ECG
  • Starting and maintaining IVs
  • Phlebotomy
  • Splint application/management
  • Psychiatric holds
  • Suicidal patients
  • Managing violent behavior
  • Mental/behavioral health conditions
  • Identifying and reporting neglect or abuse
  • Multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
