Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of ED experience
- Conscious sedation experience required
- BLS, ACLS and CPI/de-escalation training required
- PALS not required per position-specific details
- Active RN license for the assignment state or applicable compact license
- Must pass EKG exam at orientation
- Nursing diploma required
- Epic experience preferred
- No locals—must reside outside the 50-mile radius
- No travel teams
Schedule
- 12-hour nights: 7:30 p.m.–8:00 a.m.
- Every other weekend and major holiday required
- ITO interview process
Unit Highlights
- 30 ED beds plus 14 Fast Track beds, with hallway beds as needed
- Community ED treating varied medical complaints; no trauma
- Typical ratio: 1:4, subject to facility needs and not guaranteed
- Position identifies an adult ED, while the unit description lists all ages—confirm patient population
Equipment & Support
- Alaris pumps, Hamilton ventilators, AutoPulse and Panda warmers
- GlideScope, AmbuScope, ultrasound, EKG machine and bladder scanner
- RTs, PCTs, phlebotomy, ED techs and unit secretary
- 1–2 triage nurses, depending on patient flow
- 24/7 charge nurse and onsite physician, with advanced practice clinician support
